The Artist

In March of 1972, Elinore M. Korow established a portrait studio in Shaker Heights, Ohio after working commercially as a designer for the American Greetings Corporation. Since 1972, Elinore has received numerous commissions of corporate executives from all over the United States, as well as many prominent persons in the local area. Elinore decided portraiture would be her life's work at the age of seven after seeing a portrait by Thomas Gainsborough. She is the mother of three sons. Ms. Korow does children's portraits as well as adults.

Elinore M. Korow's list of exhibits nationwide has been impressive. Prominent people she has painted include Charles and Kathy Walgreen of Walgreen Drugstores; Richard Oberlin, former director of the Cleveland Play House; Edward Lechner, Dennis McClung and Don Riordan, all chairmen of the board of Blue Cross/Blue Shield; Harvey Kresge of S.S. Kresge & Co.; Harry & Rainy Stitzlein, University of Akron, Stitzlein Alumni Center; Dr. Merlin Bumpus, pioneer in blood pressure research at the Cleveland Clinic, Mrs. Burton D. Morgan and many others.

Elinore is now an instructor at the Cleveland Institute of Art.
